Fashion Week News: Meet the African Fashion!

The African Fashion International and Mercedes Benz has delivered a spectacular fashion show for Springs Summer 16.

Hello my fashion lovers, I am really excited to share this post with you all because African Fashion is so close to my heart, it’s beautiful and celebrates our beautiful continent. The beauty of our fashion allure attention beyond the borders. The line up for the show evoked interest and the collections surely did not disappoint. There were showcases from the king of fashion David Tlale, Maxhosa by Laduma, Rich Mnisi, to name a few. This season we were introduced to a new collaboration with a banger collection of ‘Colour’ by Nandi Mngoma and Inga. The duo introduced a xhosa inspired collection which also featured Nandi’s famous gorgeous dress which grabbed the attention internationally during the BET awards earlier this year. On the other hand we were also introduced to a collaboration between the model Maps Maponyane and Rich Mnisi (which I kind of saw coming Lol), amazing collection inspired by giraffes.

Khosi Nkosi showcased a beautiful colourful collection which was predominantly inspired by the Ndebele traditional attire and the others by Xhosa and Sotho traditional wears. Other alluring collections were from The Intern by David Tlale, where young and fresh talented fashion designers showcased their colourful collections inspired by women’s month. This season was truly special and inspiring because we experienced raw African talent and most importantly we got to celebrate our beautiful continent Africa! Here are some of my favorite picks from the fashion show, sharing in hoping that you get the same experience, get inspired and love African Fashion.
